Mohammad Modassar Arinpour
Mohammad was a regular army officer in Afghanistan. After the fall of the Afghan government and the rise of the Taliban, in August 2021, he was forced to leave his country. He sought refuge in Iran first, then in Turkey, where he tried with all his might to obtain a residency visa, which unfortunately he was unable to get.
He therefore decides to leave Turkey on September 21, 2022, heading for Europe through Bulgaria. Four days later, on September 25, 2022, contact with Mohammad was lost. At a time of great fatigue from the journey on foot, the people he was traveling with leave him alone in the middle of the Bulgarian hills. He told his friends that he couldn't take it anymore and wanted to hand himself over to the border police.
The family searched desperately for him: engaging in contacts through embassies, border police commands and hospitals in the region. They went to Bulgaria four times. They also received the support of the Foundation for Access to Right, which through its own lawyer, carried out some research. All searches has been in vain so far.
Fatima, his dearest sister, tells us about him as a kind, friendly and educated person. He was only looking for a place to live in peace and to rejoin with his family in Europe.
