Abdulrahman Batash, 35

Abdulrahman begins his journey in the last days of August 2023. He leaves with some friends, trying to cross the border. At some point he feels unable to continue, perhaps due to deep fatigue, and the group he was traveling with abandoned him to continue the travel. At 7 a.m. on 24/08/2023 the family had the last telephone contact with him: he was asking for help.

On August 29, a team from Collettivo Rotte Balcaniche goes to the coordinates provided by CRG (Consolidated Rescue Group), but it just finds a phone and a bag belonging to him.

The family has already traveled to Bulgaria and searched for him for three days: at the border police, in hospitals and even morgues, but unfortunately they found no evidence of his presence. The family also contacted lawyers in Bulgaria and Turkey to carry out research, but all has been in vain so far.

At the time of his disappearance, Abdulrahman was 35 years old. He was married,  looking for a quiet place to live with dignity, like everyone else. He was wearing a black shirt, black trousers and a white undershirt. Particular signs: he lacks the index finger of his right hand.
